I wrote Para los que no están after my stepfather passed away. I was in Canada, far from my family, watching my mother’s pain from a distance.
On December 30, 2024, Chilean artist Sery released “Para los que no están”, a deeply emotional single born from grief, love, and remembrance. Written and produced entirely by the artist, the song unfolds as a gentle dialogue with absence — a tribute to those who have left, and the pain that remains for those who stay.
Drawing melodic inspiration from Gustavo Cerati’s “Té para tres”, Para los que no están reimagines loss through a minimal yet heartfelt production, blending soft electronic textures and delicate vocal layers that hover between sorrow and serenity. It’s both a farewell and a form of healing — a song meant to bring comfort where words fall short.
